Hello fellow mama! I am glad you are here. My vision and mission with Bloom Postpartum is to provide the guidance and help for women that I wish I would have had when I was pregnant and after I gave birth. As a women's health and pelvic physical therapist, I have seen countless women who are seeking answers to not only their core and pelvic health concerns, but also to everything influencing their overall health. Postnatal depletion, hormone changes, nutrition, stress management, intimacy after birth..I am not sure I could name them all! It can be a lonely and frustrating journey mixed in with moments of gratitude and joys of being a mother. I have built Bloom Postpartum around my desire to change the landscape of maternal and postpartum care and to help each women I can with her unique health and wellness goals.
Shortly after the birth of my second child, I began my own journey through postpartum anxiety and chronic fatigue. I went to several doctors and had several tests before I finally started to get to the root causes of my anxiety and constant exhaustion. What was going on with me? Am I mentally losing it? Why am I so tired all of the time? These were questions that weighed heavy on me for quite some time. Why did I, as a physical therapist, seem to have more ideas and conclusions about my health than some of doctors I were seeing? Well, that answer is complicated and long, but it has a lot to do with connecting dots. Viewing and considering the body in a very holistic way.
Since those early days, I have learned how my daily decisions and habits can positively impact my health. I learned to let go of some perfectionism and embrace moments with a different perspective.
I have also continued to extend my knowledge and education of holistic health and wellness. I have always coached and counseled women through my physical therapy practice, but there never seemed to be enough time to really dive into the other aspects of my patient's health that I knew needed attention and could optimize their wellness. I am constantly studying and learning to bring my clients help and guidance that will help them change their lives! I look forward to working with you. And please know that whether you choose to join the Bloom Postpartum Sisterhood or work with me 1:1, there is hope. There are answers. You are not alone.
